This session will provide an overview of design features and strategies for earning Acoustic Performance credits in LEED v4. We will review techniques on how to reduce environmental noise intrusion and distraction from outside noise. We will also cover methods to improve interior speech intelligibility and verbal communication. Finally, we seek to enable designers and planners to be proactive in addressing potential acoustical issues during the early design phases.
Multifamily housing has a very specific set of needs often been overlooked by traditional mitigation guidance. With support from HUD, Enterprise Community Partners developed the Strategies for Multifamily housing resilience to help building owners make climate smart building investments in their facilities. The presentation team will be drawing on best practices in the field, which will include recent case studies of constructed resilient multifamily housing in a variety of cities around the country.

Participants are provided with an understanding of how to use familiar design tools to enable delivering LEED- and standards-compliant LCAs. The presentation shows how LCA can be used to identify improvement opportunities within projects, as well as how to achieve LEED v4's MR credits. The last part of the presentation is reserved for discussion on taking LCA automation into practice with questions and answers.
In this session, the real estate company 'Clarion Partners' will discuss their experience of including sustainability criteria in due diligence processes, for new acquisitions including presenting some case studies and lessons learned from the early implementation process. Verdani will share the entire procedure from data collection to analysis. DOE will provide insight on why the Asset Score was developed and how its used to understand building efficiency.
This session will educate project teams on decision making, tracking and documenting to adequately account for the LEEDv2009-NC-related documentation pertaining to Energy (EAp2, EAc1), Ventilation (EQp1, EQc1, EQc2) and Thermal Comfort (EQc7.1) that can be challenging when natural ventilation is included. This session will also provide insight into how these documentation requirements are evolving from the LEEDv2009-NC system to the LEEDv4 BD+C system.
This session will illustrate the benefits of following an integrated planning and design process with community participation by providing two examples of wildly popular places that have 'knocked it out of the park' by successfully updating and enhancing their building stock and managing their operations in a sustainable manner. Presenters will highlight tools and constructs within LEED to inspire session participants to incorporate these approaches into future projects.

The health and productivity benefits of Green buildings are becoming increasingly well understood, particularly in light of The CogFx Study, which demonstrated the impact of Green buildings and enhanced ventilation on cognitive function at last year's Greenbuild conference.
