It takes an average of 17 years for research evidence to become practice. How can we change this paradigm to more rapidly understand and share effective examples of biophilic design? Interactive activities will ensure participants learn from, contribute to, and engage with Biophilic Design to help achieve broader adoption.

Learning Objectives

  • Recognize the difference between evidence-based research and practice-based evidence, and know which method is appropriate to use and when.
  • Utilize distinct but flexible methods of contributing to the growing world wide web of biophilic design resources, tools, and data.
  • Think more creatively about methods and opportunities for conveying the need and value of the biophilic experience to students, colleagues, and community.
  • Operate brainwave monitoring devices and extract usable data for direct application to one’s projects.
