An ETFE cladding system is a durable, energy efficient, environmentally friendly technology, with light transmission properties comparable to transparent cladding systems, like glass, but weighs much less.

This course will discuss how ETFE cladding systems work, as well as applications, design considerations, and performance attributes, including durability, fire safety, solar control, acoustics, and sustainability. Several case studies will demonstrate how this technology has been employed in iconic buildings world-wide.

Learning Objectives

  • Explore the history and production of ETFE cladding systems
  • Examine ETFE cladding system components and how they are installed
  • Describe the material properties and attributes of using ETFE cladding systems
  • Analyze the best practices for using ETFE cladding systems
