Blindside waterproofing is a newer approach to comprehensive below-grade waterproofing on job sites where traditional waterproofing isn’t possible. Many times, the blindside technique is being used on a job site where the foundation is below the water table or under a great deal of hydrostatic pressure. In other applications, blindside waterproofing is a solution for zero lot lines and sites with limited access. It’s important to understand which materials and techniques to use in blindside waterproofing applications to ensure a lasting watertight seal. This course will explain the role of blindside application in below-grade waterproofing and analyze which materials work best. Best practices in blindside application will be discussed along with case studies that highlight recent commercial construction projects where blindside application provided the best, and only, solution for positive-side waterproofing.
