Floating stair systems are an architectural highlight that add dimension and beauty to any space. They provide an element of modern luxury and are adaptable to small spaces. Conventional floating stair systems are expensive; however. Pre-engineered floating staircases offer a unique advantage: custom-designed, easy to install, and affordable.

This course will help architects understand the system components and applications for pre-engineered floating staircases so they can easily communicate project applications to residential and commercial clients. Learners will study different design elements of floating stairs that can be applied to a range of custom builds in residential, light commercial, multifamily, and hospitality.

The course will go over the basic information regarding pricing, ordering, and installing custom floating stairs, and finally, architects will be able to identify the relevant building codes. Finally, four case studies will highlight the different stair configurations in residential and commercial applications.
